    Description

This is an original 1/16th plate tintype photograph of a Mennonite girl, probably from Pennsylvania. The plate measures 2-1/16 x 1-3/16 inches. Images from the 1860s/70s of Mennonites are rare, and children are even rarer. Even with her scowl as she tried to hold still, she's as cute as a button.
As you can see from the images, the condition isn't the best. There is surface lost and rust along all four edges. But the face is surprisingly free of blemishes and is in sharp focus.
This lot is being sold via seven-day auction only. U.S. bidders please add USPS First Class Mail postage. International bidders please add postage for USPS International Mail.
